Urban Sociology Position in Calgary

The Department of Sociology invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor, effective July 1, 2015. We seek a specialist in the area of urban sociology who has an active, productive research program and teaching interest in the area.

Applicants must be willing to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, produce scholarly research, mentor students, supervise honours and graduate students, commit to departmental and university service, and engage with the community. Applicants should also be prepared to teach at least one of the Department’s required undergraduate courses in the area of research methods, statistics or social theory.

Applicants must have a completed PhD in Sociology at the time of appointment, demonstrate a strong record of teaching excellence and a strong record of or potential for scholarly research.
