New York Sea Grant (NYSG) is pleased to announce its Biennial Research Call for 2016-2017.

The main goal of New York Sea Grant’s research program is to provide valid scientific information that will serve as the basis for furthering the sustainable development, use, protection, conservation, and management of our coastal resources.  The research must clearly be driven by identified needs and must provide enhanced opportunities for NYSG to ‘make a difference’ and have an impact on addressing important coastal issues.

Pre-proposals are invited specifically addressing portions of NYSG’s Strategic Plan for 2016-2017 (http://www.seagrant.sunysb.edu/Images/Uploads/PDFs/StratPln2014-17.pdf).

Research in many disciplines, including biology, chemistry, geology, physical oceanography, engineering, social science and others, will be appropriate.

Submission Deadline:  Pre-proposals are due by 4:30 PM on Monday, February 23, 2015.

Any submissions that are incomplete or received after the final deadline will not be accepted. You are encouraged to apply early!

Funding Interval:  Two years, beginning 2/1/2016.
