Assistant Prof @RutgersU in #HumanGeography & #EnvironmentalGeography

NEW JERSEY, NEW BRUNSWICK. Rutgers University. The Department of Geography invites applications for two Assistant Instructor positions. These two full-time, non-tenure track positions begin in Fall 2016 and are renewable annually. Both positions carry a 2/3 teaching load (5 courses per year). Both also entail assisting with advising of undergrad majors and minors in one or more of our three undergraduate degree programs (Geography, Environmental Studies, International and Global Studies). Required qualifications: PhD (or ABD with a defense date prior to September 1, 2016) in Geography or a closely related discipline, teaching experience in a college or university setting in geography, environmental studies, or a related discipline. For both positions, experience in teaching large classes (100-300 students) is desirable.

Position 1. Human geography. This position entails teaching our large introductory human geography course  “Space, Place and Location” (twice per year), an introductory course in global and international studies “Global Advancement: Introduction to Global and International Studies” (once or twice per year), a regional course, and/or an upper level course reflecting the instructor’s area of expertise and the teaching needs of the department. Apply for the human geography position: apply.interfolio.com/34545

Position 2. Environmental geography. This position entails teaching our large introductory human-environment course “Transforming the Global Environment” (twice per year), our large introductory physical geography course “Earth Systems” (once or twice per year), an introductory course in Geographical Information Systems or another techniques course, and/or an upper level course reflecting the instructor’s area of expertise and the teaching needs of the department. Apply for the environmental geography position: apply.interfolio.com/34547
