Visiting Asst. Prof in #Geography & #SustainablePlanning available @GVSU

The Department of Geography and Sustainable Planning at Grand Valley State University (Allendale, MI) is looking for a broadly-trained geographer or planner. Teaching responsibilities include introductory geography or planning courses, computer cartography and introduction to GIS.

Qualifications: Advanced degree in geography, planning, geospatial technology, sustainability science or closely related field. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to excellent undergraduate teaching in a university that emphasizes a high quality liberal arts education. Previous teaching experience, including online courses, and a terminal degree completed before August 2016 are considered a plus.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach 4 courses per semester.

The Department of Geography and Sustainable Planning offers the geography major (B.S. and B.A.), minors in geographic techniques minor, sustainable urban and regional planning minor, and the geography education at the secondary level (teachable minor), and certification programs in Geographic Information Systems technology and in sustainable urban and regional planning.
