The Provost’s Office is committed to gathering student opinions about their experiences at the Graduate Center and using that information for ongoing planning, so that we can do our best to help current and future students make the most out of their time at the GC. We need your help to ensure that doctoral students’ voices are heard.

On October 25th, the Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness will launch the 2016 Doctoral Student Experience Survey. The survey will be sent to all enrolled doctoral students via their GC email and will be open until November 18th. Students completing the survey will be eligible for a raffle for five $50 Amazon.com gift certificates.

The survey has been an important tool for decision-making in the Provost’s Office. For example, the survey played an important role justifying increased support for student professional development. The survey responses will not only gauge the doctoral student experience, but will enable us to conduct research providing insight on how factors such as the quality of advising, program climate, and research experiences impact students’ progress and success at the GC and beyond.

Starting this year, the survey results will be made available to the GC community via online dashboards, which will enable filtering and viewing results for individual programs and student sub-groups.

EES hopes to achieve high response rate!

If you have any questions about the survey, please contact Jennifer Kobrin, Director of Institutional Research & Effectiveness, at jkobrin@gc.cuny.edu.
