Tenure Track Asst. Prof Opening in Environmental Studies @Middlebury

Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies – Social Scientist with Environmental Justice focus, Middlebury College, MIDDLEBURY, VT — The Environmental Studies Program invites applicants for a full-time tenure-track position in environmental justice beginning fall 2017. The successful candidate will have environmental expertise on topics and/or intersections of race, ethnicity, and class. The candidate’s degree (Ph.D. or A.B.D.) may be in any of a range of fields including but not limited to anthropology, critical race and ethnic studies, environmental studies, geography, indigenous studies, post-colonial studies, psychology, sociology, and urban studies. Applicants must show evidence and/or promise of excellence in teaching students from diverse backgrounds and have an active research agenda. Teaching responsibilities will include an introductory environmental studies core course, a first year seminar, and some combination of interdisciplinary team-taught and/or community-based environmental studies seminars and courses in the area of the candidate’s specialization.
