Now Hiring: Assistant Professor in #CulturalGeography & #GIS @ManhattanEdu

Manhattan College is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure track assistant professor of cultural geography with research and teaching proficiency in GIS. The successful applicant will join a multi-disciplinary Department of Sociology and play a key role in developing our new geography curriculum as well as the expansion of the department’s social analytical emphasis into socio-spatial analysis. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in geography or a related field by the time of employment. Areas of specialization are open, but we are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in critical and cultural geography (including global and political economic), as well as interests in gender, race, migration, and environmental sustainability. Requirements for successful applicants are (a) demonstrable experience and excellence in teaching and (b) proficiency in GIS. We are especially interested in applicants able to foster critical inquiry and support Manhattan College’s commitment to social justice and service to the community.
