The School of Geosciences at the University of South Florida seeks two full-time, 9-month Visiting Instructor positions with the possible extension for a second and/or third year.
The positions are in the fields of GIScience, position number 38620 and Human Geography position number 38621.
The GIScience Instructor will teach introductory GIS and other courses in their specialty area, which might be either technical (e.g. databases, WebGIS) or substantive (e.g. transportation, health, socio-economic, or environmental applications of GIS).
The Human Geography Instructor will teach introductory courses in human and world regional geography and upper level courses in their specialty area, which might include urban, feminist, environmental, hazards, health, and/or transportation geography.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Geography, GIS, or closely related field from an accredited institution is required and must be conferred by appointment start date. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate potential to effectively teach GIS or human geography courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
