CFP: CUNY Climate in Context Conference

I am writing to remind you about the upcoming deadline for abstract submission for the Climate in Context conference at the GC.

If your work is related to either the physical or social dimensions of climate or climate change, please submit an abstract (details below) by Friday, February 13th!

We would like to encourage all faculty who do climate-related research to submit a short paragraph introducing themselves and their work. The purpose would be to create a page on the website advertising CUNY faculty to help solidify the larger climate-science community across the CUNY campuses.

_____

The conference is meant to bring all CUNY climate scientists (both the physical and social sciences) together, to present research and to provide a forum to discuss new ideas. See the website for our initial ideas for the sessions.

Here are details:

Website:                          http://opencuny.org/ccgcc/

Abstracts Due:              Friday, Feb. 13, 2015

Conference Schedule Announced: Feb 16, 2015

Conference Date:  Friday, March 13, 2015

Location: the same room as the GEOS seminar ( the Science Center at the grad. center).

Format: Our plan is to run the conference from 1 pm-7pm with coffee breaks and poster sessions, with a reception to follow.

In the first year, we allowed presentations and posters for students only. This year, we are opening up the poster session for faculty as well, with a few short introductions to sessions by a small number of faculty whose work fits with submitted student abstracts.
