Human Geography Lecturer or Visiting Assistant Professor @

A full-time visiting assistant professor or lecturer position in the area of Human Geography to begin in Fall 2019. Candidates who hold tenure or tenure-track status at another institution can be hired as a visiting assistant professor. Candidates who do not have tenure-track status will be hired as a lecturer. Applicants who prefer a half-time employment will be considered. The initial appointment will be for one academic year, with the possibility of renewal. Successful candidates are expected to teach undergraduate courses in human geography and environmental studies.

Full time teaching load is four courses per semester. Examples of courses include GEO 121 Human Geography and Globalization, GEO 312 Geography of Contemporary Global Issues, GEO 345 Political Geography, GEO 360 Gender and Geography in the Midst of Globalization, ENV 101 Introduction to Environmental Studies, ENV 310 Environmental Issues Management, and ENV 350 Foundations of Environmental Thought.

ABDs or Masters with exceptional professional and teaching experiences, specialization in Geography, Environmental Studies, or a closely related discipline; evidence of scholarship and of teaching effectiveness, and strong communication skills. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
