As part of the NSF-funded GeoNeeds project, funding is available to support approximately 20 participants (faculty and college administrators) to attend the 2016 Earth Educators’ Rendezvous (EER, http://serc.carleton.edu)This event will include the GeoNeeds 2-day workshop on increasing diversity in the Earth Sciences. The goal of the GeoNeeds project is to extend instruction in the Earth Sciences at Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs) or at institutions that serve a significant population of students from Under Represented Minorities (URMs; including 2 year colleges). We hope that you will use this opportunity to attend the EER to learn more about the breadth of resources available to support Earth Science education at all institutions and for all students, and to contribute to our efforts to broaden participation in the Earth Sciences.

Details of the GeoNeeds workshop and qualifications of applicants are described in more detail at this website (http://serc.carleton.edu/geoneeds/eer16.html. The application form can be accessed at:  http://serc.carleton.edu/geoneeds/eerapp.html The application deadline is March 1 and notifications of support will be sent by March 15 so you will have time to register for the EER and make your summer travel plans.
